New PhD students at SocArts

The SocArts group is expanding rapidly, this year we are welcoming three new PhD students from Portugal, Turkey and Iceland!

  • Pedro dos Santos Boia from Portugal will be researching the viola and the identity of viola players throughout history and nowadays.
  • Sigrún Lilja Einarsdóttir from Iceland will be working on aesthetics and amateur choral singing, cross-culturally.
  • Pinar Güran from Turkey will focus on the use of music by the Turkish community in Berlin to preserve or construct cultural memories.
All in all, a very eclectic group, extending and complementing SocArts' already wide range of activities.
